Equality, diversity and human rights week 2012

Conferences in London and Manchester in May 2012. Join other NHS equality, diversity and human rights specialists to share best practice and hear the latest thinking.

This is the seventh year that NHS Employers have run an Equality, diversity and human rights event. For 2012, following your feedback we’ve made some changes this year that we hope you’ll find helpful.

There’ll be two conferences, one in London and one in Manchester – meaning you can choose the most convenient to you and spend less on travel and accommodation. The event programme will focus on leadership, quality, embedding culture and good practice. You’ll hear from experts in these areas, and have time to meet and share ideas with peers from other organisations, including those tackling the same regional issues as you.

The events will take place in May rather than January. It’s in the new financial year which may help you budget for it, and will be after NHS organisations are expected to have set their equality objectives, so you can share experiences and look at how you work towards them.

There will be a whole week of activities in May. As well as the conferences, we will be holding online discussions and issuing a whole range of messages designed to provoke debate and help you meet your challenges locally.

You choose the topics you want to discuss. An ‘open space’ approach to some sessions at the conferences will mean you can focus on your priorities and find ways to tackle your challenges, with the thoughts and ideas of speakers and other delegates to help you.
