Supporting and improving the health and well-being of the workforce is essential if the NHS is to meet the challenges of delivering high quality care without excessive costs. This review highlights that the NHS loses 10.3 million working days each year due to sickness absence alone. It will show for the first time clear links between workforce well-being and key measures such as patient satisfaction and trust performance.
