Mike O'Brien joined the Department of Health in June 2009 as the Minister of State for Health. Mike was previously Minister of the State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
He is the Member of Parliament for the West Midlands constituency of North Warwickshire and Bedworth. He was first elected in 1992,
served as a junior minister in the Home Office from 1997 to 2001, then as a Minister of State at the Foreign Office until 9 September 2004, when he became Minister of State for Energy and Competitiveness at the DTI. In 2005 he replaced Harriet Harman as Solicitor General.
In 2007 Mike was appointed as Minister of State for Pensions Reform at The Department for Work and Pensions.
Mike is married to Alison, and they have two children.
