NHS Careers was launched in 1999 by the Department of Health to help fill nursing and midwifery vacancies. Over the last ten years, it has evolved into a service supporting over 350 different careers in the NHS via a helpline, literature and websites.
Managed by NHS Employers since 2005, NHS Careers now offers programmes for specific audiences including 14-19 year olds, graduates and career changers.
