Gary is Head of Employment at Capsticks. He has experience advising a range of public bodies on all aspects of employment law and the public law issues that can arise. Clients have included local authorities, police forces and fire authorities as well as a range of NHS bodies.
He is a regular speaker at seminars and workshops with a particular focus on giving practical guidance and risk management advice. He has recently provided a series of seminars on equality and diversity, covering the various Equality Duties, Single Equality Schemes and Equality & Diversity issues generally. Training given has included to non-executive directors of FTs for the Appointments Commission and training for auditors looking at the implementation of the Race Equality Duty for the Healthcare Commission.
Gary is a member of Capsticks’ Board, which focuses on the firm’s strategic planning and business development. As such, he is closely involved in the firm’s initiatives to understand and work more closely with its clients at all levels.
