There is currently a competitive tendering exercise under way to identify a provider for the NHS Jobs service from next year.

The Department of Health is committed to continuing the provision of NHS Jobs as a universal and free at the point of use service. The new contract is expected to commence in the second half of 2010-2011.  In the interim, NHS Employers will continue to offer the existing NHS Jobs service to the NHS, free at the point of use, and we are working closely together to ensure it is delivered effectively until a tender is agreed. For existing NHS Jobs licence holders the service will continue as described in the licence.  NHS Employers will be working closely with NHS North West who is leading the re-tendering to help ensure continuity of service and that the new NHS Jobs will continue to provide the services that employers want.

In view of the tender of NHS Jobs, and taking into account the difficult financial conditions that the NHS is operating in, the NHS Confederation’s Trustees have decided not to progress the member model at this time.   NHS Employers have been in direct discussions with the NHS organisations who had signed up.
