The NHS Employers organisation and the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) have jointly published a comprehensive guidance document for the New Medicine Service (NMS).
This guidance is a useful resource for community pharmacists and commissioners. It includes information that will help to ensure the NMS is both delivered and monitored successfully, such as contractor requirements, reporting arrangements and payment information. There are also a number of helpful templates for community pharmacies to download and use.
Guidance for targeted Medicines Use Reviews (MURs) and clinical governance will be published in due course.
