Baseline assessment 

Now that you have completed the audit tool, you need to think about getting a more complete picture of where your organisation is in terms of equality and diversity.

graphIf you haven’t already done one, a baseline assessment of your organisation will help you to more fully answer the first question “Where are you now?”

It will provide a detailed picture of facts, views and opinions from a range of sources about equality and diversity issues in your organisation.  

The objective is to establish some measures of how well your organisation is performing on equality, with input from your key stakeholders, as well as recognising and valuing the diversity that people bring to the workplace.

This phase should also be very closely linked to the development of your race, disability, gender or single equality schemes and may have already been done as part of those processes.
