Publishing equality information - new guidance

16/01/2012
New guidance illustrates the types of equality information that NHS organisations might publish to demonstrate compliance with the public sector equality duty.

Guidance on meeting the specific duty: publishing information to demonstrate compliance includes examples of the types of evidence that can be used to demonstrate compliance with the public sector equality duty and the need to eliminate harassment, advance equal opportunities and foster good relations between people with different protected characteristics.

All public bodies will need to publish information by 31 January 2012 to meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.

The content of this guide is drawn from comprehensive guidance on the public sector equality duty, which is currently being developed for the NHS by NHS Employers, the Department of Health and the Equality and  Human Rights Commission.
