The UK Work Organisation Network (UKWON) is a not for profit coalition of employers' organisations, professional bodies, trade unions and universities.
It is committed to developing and disseminating new ways of organising work that lead to sustainable performance and a high quality of working life.
Their 2012 programme of events focus on how to embed good staff engagement practice and four companies have been selected to showcase their work and practical examples of what work.
The events include:
21 February 2012 - Centrica, Leicester
The discussions will focus on Centrica's achievements as well as on the real problems involved in embedding an engagement culture within a large and complex organisation.
15 May 2012 - NextiraOne, Lichfield
This event will look at this communications and IT infrastructure company's talent management programme.
19 June 2012 - The Lindum Group, Nottingham
The Lindum group has consistently appeared in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For and has changed its leadership approach to empower employees. The June event will enable you to hear how this has been done.
2 October 2012 - Whitbread, Dunstable
Whitbread has a response rate of 77 per cent for its employee survey and the survey has now become embedded into the way that the company does business. Local team level action plans have been introduced which enable managers to take ownership of the engagement and motivation of their teams. At this event you will hear how this works in practice.
