CAJE - cleaning data

A robust a 'clean up' exercise has taken place to reconfigure CAJE data in line with the newly formed Strategic Health Authorities, ambulance trusts and Primary Care Trusts.

We have put together some points to consider when carrying out this exercise:

  • check that all outcomes in your reconfigured data are in fact appropriate to your reconfigured population. There may be some outcomes that are no longer relevant, for example, the post holders have been migrated to a different organisation. This needs to be done as soon as possible, so that effective monitoring can continue
  • consider deleting any irrelevant 'test' outcomes or outcomes that are showing 'not finished', for example, because the jobs have been dealt with elsewhere
  • as you will be able to see outcomes from all former organisations that have now merged, you may need consider sorting the records so that the panel cannot view them
  • to maintain accurate records and an effective audit trail, it is useful if each former trust only used specific codes and divides the codes across each locality
  • all panel codes for panel members have changed, so where people have worked in more than one of the former trusts they will have two codes.

The Job Evaluation Group

The Job Evaluation Group is a national technical sub-group of the NHS Staff Council whose remit is to continue to ensure that the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme is fit for purpose. Its membership includes representatives of the health service, the four UK health departments and representatives of the NHS joint unions.
