Pay protection for doctors in training
In response to frequent requests from employers, NHS Employers has taken advice from employing organisations, professional and legal advisors and other stakeholders to produce a paper setting out its understanding of the purpose and application of pay protection in respect of junior doctors on rotational appointments. The paper addresses both basic eligibility and the calculation of protected pay.
Current contractual arrangements
The current contractual arrangements for doctors in hospital and public health training have been in force since December 2000.
