Employers attend NHS Pay Review Body oral evidence session

18/12/2012
Following on from our written evidence to the NHS Pay Review Body in the autumn, NHS Employers led a team of employer representatives who gave supporting oral evidence to the NHS Pay Review Body.
Dictionary definition of evidence

A strong team of employer representatives (including a Chief Executive, a Finance Director and some HRDs) joined us at the oral evidence session on 11 December 2012.

This was a good opportunity for senior NHS managers to engage directly with members of the review body and to explain employer perspectives.

We used the session to reinforce the key messages in our written evidence that the pay bill is the largest element of an NHS organisation's expenditure and that an increase in pay rates next year would make the required efficiency savings more difficult.

We expect to hear the recommendation of both the AfC and Doctors and Dentist Review Body by March 2013.

You can read our full written evidence on our annual pay review webpages.
