HMT have published the New Fair Deal guidance which applies where a public service is outsourced, to be delivered by an independent provider.
Under this guidance employees who have been transferred under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE) will continue to be offered access to a public service pension scheme rather than a broadly comparable scheme. The guidance sets out the detail of how the policy will work to ensure that the public sector continue to have access to good quality pensions.
