Part of our role is to help employers understand and contribute to changes in the recruitment, training and career structure of the medical workforce. This includes providing general advice and guidance on good practice, as well as representing NHS organisations to policy makers.
NHS Employers is fully engaged with the range of programmes underway to modernise the health professions, many of which concern the medical workforce.
Please note the Medical Workforce inbox medicalworkforce@nhsemployers.org cannot provide answers to specific employer queries relating directly to; pay, contractual issues, or terms and conditions. Please direct such queries to doctorsanddentists@nhsemployers.org.
Support networks for Medical Staffing Officers
Beyond the Medical Workforce Forum, the NHS Employers' Medical Workforce team also works regularly with established networks of HR Directors, Medical Directors, Foundation Trusts, NAMPS and others to provide feedback on current issues and responses to formal consultations.
NHS staff new to the world of medical staffing may find it helpful to seek the support, advice, guidance and training available through the National Association of Medical Personnel Specialists (NAMPS) to be able to engage better in those conversations with us. Visit their membership web pages for details on good HR practice, regional networking, training courses and conferences.
