In particular it confirms that there has been no change to the requirements for medical certification for absences lasting more than seven days. The guidance gives detail of how existing arrangements can be operated in an effective way to avoid unnecessary pressure on GP practices during the pandemic. For example, GPs will be able to issue a certificate following a telephone consultation in some circumstances.
