In February 2015, NHS Employers signed a membership agreement with Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA).
Under the contract, NHS Employers will provide services similar to those currently provided to trusts, such as advice and guidance on workforce issues including interpreting terms and conditions of employment.
Commissioned work has already been completed for GHA on job evaluation and on non-consultant doctors and we expect more commissions will follow.
Gill Bellord, director of employment relations and reward at NHS Employers, was present at the signing of the agreement and said: "We have gathered a lot of expertise and we hope to share that with Gibraltar Health Authority. I would say that there are a lot of similarities between health care in the UK and health care in Gibraltar. There are some differences as well, so it will be interesting to learn from our new colleagues how they do things and share information and practices between us".
NHS Employers looks forward to working with Gibraltar Health Authority in the near future.
