We involve the NHS in all our work, building an understanding of employers' priorities and needs so we can be responsive and accountable to them. We provide a wide variety of opportunities to influence and get involved in our work. Listed below is a summary of some of the current ways for you to get involved. If you would like to get involved or receive further information about any of the activities click on the links below, complete our get involved form or email getinvolved@nhsemployers.org.
Regional employers' forums and membership meetingsWe hold two employers forums a year, in each SHA patch. The forums give employers the opportunity to hear insider information on key workforce issues and areas of work, get a more detailed update on NHS Employers key areas of work, feedback on national and local issues in a more intimate confidential setting and influence NHS Employers future and current work programme. We hold employers' forums on the same day as NHS Confederation membership meetings to link workforce to wider policy updates. National forumsWe run national forums dealing with four priority areas identified by employers; these are productivity, medical workforce, healthcare professions and European workforce. The forums identify and prioritise work and ensure that there is a NHS management contribution and service perspective in the range of discussions and initiatives around each of these areas. Reference groups, committees and other forumsWe have over 600 employers involved in our work through virtual reference groups, steering groups, committees and negotiating groups which feed into each area of our work. These include Equality and Diversity reference group, Pay Negotiating Council, NHS Careers reference group, PCT Managers reference group. We also nominate employers to sit on external national groups and forums to feed in the employers view direct. Further details can be found on the get involved pages throughout other topic areas on the site. Policy BoardOur Policy Board plays an important role in making decisions about the work, position and direction of NHS Employers, with members drawn from a diverse range of organisations and professions. The nature of its work over the last year has included signing off our evidence to the pay review bodies, agreeing our position for each of our negotiations and directing our support for the Commissioning a Patient-led NHS process. AssemblyThe Assembly is the key representative body for NHS Employers providing legitimacy for its actions and decisions. We are currently reviewing the Assembly structure including proposals that the Assembly should be smaller. This would allow more personalised communications, relationships and service, ensuring more detailed feedback and improving the quality and timeliness of intelligence. Assembly members are feeding into the review. NHS Workforce BulletinNHS Workforce Bulletin is your weekly update on HR and workforce issues in the NHS. We distribute the weekly email bulletin highlighting current opportunities to get involved in our work, updates on recent activities and achievements, and forthcoming events. National eventsWe deliver a programme of national conferences on a variety of issues affecting NHS employers over the past year these have included workforce productivity, shared services, equality and diversity and NHS pensions. Bringing all the key issues together once a year is the NHS Employers annual conference and exhibition. ResearchWe have an annual programme of research including an annual census, stakeholder perception audit and various focus groups, gathering employers' feedback on the products and services we provide in order to continuously improve. NHS Confederation membersNHE Employers is part of the NHS Confederation, allowing us to make the links between workforce and the wider NHS agenda. We speak to NHS Confederation members about workforce issues at sector specific events, networks, groups and forums and keep our audiences informed on the national agenda, as it relates to workforce. If there are any specific areas of our work you are interested in getting involved in please complete this questionnaire.
