Chair - David Amos, Director of Workforce, UCLH

Looking at how increasing evidence suggests that in order to achieve diversity objectives, the commitment to change needs to be matched by action at all levels of the organisation.


Workshop 2 - Leadership skills & diversity

Chair - Fiona Edwards, Chief Executive, Surrey Borders Partnership NHS Trust

Discussing how leaders can use diversity to help their organisation achieve their broader aims and objectives. And what qualities, skills and behaviours are required by leaders to demonstrate a commitment to diversity.


Workshop 3 - Successful diversity monitoring within an organisation

Chair: Barry Mussenden, Equality and Human Rights Group, Department of Health

Exploring what data we should collect and how we should best use this data and information.


Workshop 4 - Creating and managing staff networks to create and maintain an inclusive workplace

Chairs - Gail Adams, Head of Nursing, Unison and Alastair Henderson, Joint Acting Director, NHS Employers

This workshop will look at how to encourage individuals to get involved and share views through staff support networks.

Delegates will also discuss the benefits of one overarching network vs. a number of separate groups that communicate with each other.


Workshop 5 - Engaging diverse communities

Chair: Ali Jan Haider, Deputy Director Equality and Diversity, Bradford and Airedale Teaching PCT

Exploring how organisations can best demonstrate and publicise the fact that they are embracing diversity and use this most effectively to engage communities.


Workshop 6 - The legal landscape: hear from the experts

Chair: Hilary Nightingale, Acting Director of HR, Royal Free Hospital

Delegates will meet legal experts who will give a view on complying with the requirements of an ever expanding legal framework.
