Planning the future for medical training: the employers' perspective
Manchester, Birmingham and London
NHS Employers has joined forces with the Department of Health's MMC team to offer employers a bespoke opportunity to help shape the future for postgraduate medical training in this series of regional workshops. These free half-day workshops will provide HR and medical directors and senior HR, medical staffing and operational mangers with an update from the MMC team on plans already in place for 2009. Critically, they provide an opportunity to discuss employer' requirements for a postgraduate medical training scheme to meet future needs. |

Making sense of the new immigration rules: the points-based system
In partnership with the UK Border Agency, NHS Employers is running two half day seminars to discuss the new points-based system. These seminars will provide an an overview of the new points-based system and what this means for employers, exploring the complexities of the new immigration regulations and uncovering the solutions to minimise the risk in employment and recruitment processes. |

Consultant contract: sharing the benefits
Part of the consultant contract work programme, managed by the large scale workforce change (LSWC) team, this conference aims to share positive examples of how the consultant contract has been used as an effective tool to deliver benefits for trusts, patients and consultants. Providing a valuable opportunity for consultants and their employers to share practical information and advice on how they are using the job planning process to deliver benefits and engaging in service improvements to deliver their Trust business. |

Leading workforce thinking
Bookings are now open for Leading workforce thinking, the NHS Employers annual conference and exhibition 2008. This is a key highlight in the year for senior workforce and human resource professionals in the health service. The programme goes beyond HR to cover the latest workforce issues and strategies essential to a changing NHS. At last year's event 92% of delegates said they would do something differently as a result of attending and we plan to build on this in 2008.

Equality and diversity: a clean bill of health
NHS Employers' equality and diversity conference is back for a fourth successful year and will be taking place on 20 January 2009 at Victoria Park Plaza in London. This event will feature a range of presentations covering up-to-the-minute information led by key speakers, as well as comprehensive workshops enabling you to update your knowledge and understanding of the latest issues in equality and diversity.

Engage, involve, improve: making NHS staff engagement a reality
NHS Employers hosted this national event on 15 July in London to share learning and information about work on staff involvement, staff engagement and the staff survey. The programme, featured Health Minister, Ann Keen, the Healthcare Commission and the Institute for Employment Studies, and provided the national context and the chance to learn from other NHS organisations. Presentations are available for attending delegates to download. |
