Press release: NHS Employers statement in response to MMC/MTAS review group announcement23 Mar 2007 NHS Employers is a member of the review group looking at MMC/MTAS and supports the new plan for recruiting to the 21,500 medical specialty training places in the UK. Employers locally are actively engaged in interviews and many consultants have told us that interview panels are seeing good doctors. We know many will be appointable to the posts available. The review group has agreed that interviews will continue and employers will release consultants and junior doctors to attend panels. We are pleased the panels will continue to meet and that all eligible doctors in the new process will be interviewed. In this transition year this is the most equitable means of recruiting.
