Press release: NHS Employers' response to result of poll of GPs re contract changes06 Mar 2008 Alastair Henderson, acting director of NHS Employers, which represents NHS organisations on workforce issues and which is now responsible for negotiating the GP contract, said: 'We are pleased that GPs have voted in favour of the contract changes that we proposed to the BMA. 'Under these new arrangements, patients will have on average around 3 hours extra to see their GP per week which is to be welcomed. 'PCTs will now want to make the most out of the opportunities the contract changes give them to extend the services GPs offer their patients.'
