We have seven new case studies to help you with planning and running your local flu fighter campaign.
1. Flu fighter case study - Communication
The case studies highlighted here from University College London Hospitals and Kent Community Healthcare NHS Trust provide great examples on engaging with staff during flu campaigns.
2. Flu fighter case study - Mythbusting
These examples from South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford District Care Trust show how the use of different channels can help bust myths and provide accurate information to staff.
3. Flu fighter case study - Accessibility
Ensuring that the vaccine is available to staff is key to any flu campaign. London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Norfolk Community Healthcare Trust share their good practice.
4. Flu fighter case study - Reward
Offering your staff a small thank you for having their flu jab can make a big difference to your campaign. Case studies from South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust are great examples of the positive impact this can have.

Effective campaigning over three years
West Suffolk Occupational Health Service has provided flu vaccinations to staff for over a decade and seen a significant rise in vaccinations. In 2000, vaccination of 10 per cent of the organisation was achieved, in 2005 the figure was 26 per cent, and in 2010 it was 44 per cent.
Effective planning and flexible vaccine delivery
South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust saw the number of frontline staff receiving flu vaccinations rocket from 10 per cent to 52 percent in 2010/11 by using a combination of flexible ways to deliver the vaccine.
Taking the vaccine to the staff
By using a series of innovative methods to engage with community based staff, NHS Rotherham significantly increased their vaccine uptake rates.
All hands on deck
Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust saw a sharp rise in the number of staff volunteering to have the seasonal flu jab thank to a coordinated effort from staff and effective leadership.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust has steadily increased uptake of the staff seasonal flu vaccination during the last five years by focusing on accessibility.
