Advice for managers and staff on working with radiation in the NHS. This document has been undertaken in partnership by staff and management-side representatives of the Partnership for Occupational Safety and Health in Healthcare (POSHH), which is a sub group of the NHS Staff Council.

It is intended to offer advice to managers at all levels, and their staff, on how to work more safely with exposure to radiation in their everyday jobs. It will also be particularly useful to chief executives, who may be unaware of their range of responsibilities in relation to radiation services.

In addition it should also be of interest those working in the field such as radiographers, radiologists, orthopaedic surgeons, clinical oncologists, radiopharmacists, physicists, dentists and cardiologists. For these groups it aims to provide links to key documents and legislation and to highlight areas where there is concern about compliance.
