01 / 09 / 2012

In this health and wellbeing case study, find out how Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust developed and implemented a trust wide project tackling sickness absence. The project aims to reduce sickness absence by 3 per cent and improve organisational efficiency, by:

  • reducing days lost to sickness
  • improving attendance at work
  • supporting employees and their managers to manage sickness more efficiently.
Using feedback from their staff survey the trust recognised a different approach was needed in order to make an impact on the perceptions of how the organisation handled sickness absence.

The trust appointed a case manager to work directly with the occupational health and wellbeing manager to develop and support a fit and healthy workforce.

Read how the trust implemented the project, their results and top tips.
