In 2006 and 2007 Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust suffered with poor patient and staff survey findings. The trust needed to develop a culture where quality, safety and efficiency are paramount. The organisational development (OD) team used OD theory and practice to help improve the organisation's culture. The team embedded new values and a behaviours framework and spent time communicating to staff what OD was and why creating the right culture was important.
