Health Education Yorkshire and Humber has worked in partnership with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust and other regional partners to develop a new apprenticeship training scheme in the field of healthcare science.
The process involved collaboration with local education providers to design apprentice pathways that would enhance workforce supply for support staff at bands two to four.
This case study details the planning, delivery and evaluation of the successful new model, together with feedback from those involved and consideration of the wider implications for service improvement and patient care.
