Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS trust used recruitment workshops to work with their local community and dispel common misconceptions among black and minority ethnic (BME) communities.
The trust decided to take actions after reviewing workforce data that highlighted a significant under representation from BME communities at certain bands and roles within the trust.
Over 60 people received coaching and information on NHS jobs. As a result, the trust saw a significant increase in the number of applications from BME communities and received positive feedback.
