The University of Hertfordshire has been working with local school children who interview potential student nurses for the BSc Pre-Registration Nursing (Child) degree.

This has been a successful partnership for the last five years that has bought benefits to both the children and the candidates being interviewed.

At each selection day the children form a panel of three and ask pre-agreed questions to the candidate.

This gives the candidate the opportunity to demonstrate their communication and interaction skills with children and how they respond to them.  The children benefit by gaining skills and experience in communication and decision making.

Find out how the university has set up this partnership, how it works and what the candidates say about the experience in this case study.
