Working longer in the NHS - What staff need to know

The Working Longer Group has created an infographic for staff, which highlights the important facts about the ageing workforce in the NHS, including things to consider regarding retirement and some of the common misconceptions. 

The infographic includes key statistics about the NHS workforce:

  • 46 per cent of the NHS workforce are now aged 45 and above
  • the average age of the NHS workforce is 43
  • most staff in the NHS now have a pension age of 65 or above.
