With a new strategy and improvement directorate under the leadership of Dawn Jarvis, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is now on its way to financial recovery. The activities the team have put in place to help the organisation, demonstrate that this process has really all being about engaging with staff every step of they way. Three main objectives have been set by the board and NHS Improvement, these are:
- Savings of £11 million in revenue with a stretch goal of £13 million within financial year 2016-17.
- Creating a number of work streams across different sites and departments looking at ways the trust could be more economical in their activity, reducing waste and surplus costs.
- Engaging staff throughout the process, listening and responding to their needs and encouraging transparency through adoption of effective communication methods.
