The registration period for the new national awards 'Healthcare 100' is now closed. The awards aim to celebrate the top employers in healthcare and are being jointly run by the Health Service Journal and the Nursing Times, supported by NHS Employers. The awards are based on extensive surveys of organisations and their staff, carried out by Ipsos Mori, to identify the best overall employers and the best in particular categories. The survey will provide healthcare organisations with an opportunity to benchmark their employment practice against another organisations in the same sector and in the overall healthcare market, as well as generating a prestigious list of the best healthcare organisations to work for. The Department of Health's Director General of Workforce, Clare Chapman, will be on the panel of judges. The top 100 organisations will know by the end of the year and a celebratory lunch will be held on 2 March 2009.
