Disability Standard 2009

NHS Employers has negotiated a discounted rate with the Employers' Forum on Disability for the first 50 NHS organisations to sign up for the Disability Standard 2009.

The Disability Standard 2009 is an online benchmarking and management tool that measures an employer's performance on disability as it affects every part of their organisation. Benefits of participating in the programme include:

• a comprehensive diagnostic report on disability within your organisation, containing details of actions you can take to improve future performance
• best practice awards that celebrate your organisation's commitment to disability confidence
• Disability Standard 2009 benchmark that ranks your performance against all participants and by sector.

NHS Employers has negotiated a discounted rate for the first 50 NHS trusts to register with Employers' Forum on Disability to participate in the Disability Standard 2009 programme.

The discounted fee of £2000 will include:

• access to the Disability Standard online assessment tool
• access to a directory of best practice guidance
• a place at a pre-completion workshop
• a diagnostic report on your organisation's performance
• a tailored debrief session (on request)
• a sector (NHS) report and debrief
• a delegate place at the 'Building disability confidence' event
• a copy of the Disability Standard 2009 Benchmark Report
• entry into the Disability Standard 2009 Awards
• a place at the Disability Standard 2009 Awards ceremony

telephone and email support from the Disability Standard team.

All assessments are completed online through a series of self-rating statements and supplemented by supporting evidence when requested.
