Positive action
This section will be of interest to NHS organisations undertaking, or considering, positive action initiatives. It provides information on the rationale behind positive action, practical guidance in setting up such schemes and presents some useful examples of positive action currently delivering benefits to the NHS.
E&D through service reconfiguration
Creating a patient-led NHS has clearly set the direction for Primary Care Trusts to develop a service where patients have a greater range of choices and where NHS organisations are better at understanding their needs. Commissioning a patient-led NHS calls for a reconfiguration of the service to support this change.
