Nurses cleaning up

16 / 1 / 2015 Midnight

The NHS Employers organisation responds to the ‘Safe staffing for nursing in A&E departments - NICE safe staffing guideline draft for consultation’ issued by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) today (16 January).
Danny Mortimer, chief executive of the NHS Employers organisation, said:
“It’s important to look at the systems, processes and communication we have in place to manage patient flow in and out of A&E departments.”
“Employers are committed to supporting all their people to provide safe, high quality care. They know the importance of having sufficient numbers working well together in teams. We will be encouraging employers to look at these guidelines and engage with the consultation process.”
