Only eight months after opening, Horizon Leeds was a winner at last night’s inaugural Conference and Hospitality Show awards - held at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.
It won the Best Day Delegate Rate award against stiff competition from organisations including Alton Towers.
Horizon Leeds is run by the NHS Confederation and is the country’s first and only fully equipped conference and meeting space that invests all profits back into improving services for the NHS.
The venue’s ‘@Think’ boardroom was also ‘highly commended’ in the Best Boardroom category at last night’s awards. The boardroom gives delegates a wide range of networking and social media tools.
Megan Taffs, General Manager for Horizon Leeds, said:
“We love our Horizon Leeds, from its great natural light to its vibrant NHS values, and we’re chuffed it’s making an impact. Our bright, hard-working team is always finding new ways to welcome delegates from all sectors.
“Most major NHS organisations have two headquarters – London and Leeds – and the country’s biggest health trust is Leeds Teaching Hospitals. So Leeds has a pivotal role in the world’s greatest health system and we’re happy to be a part of that but we are also seeing an increasing number of private sector clients who want to see their booking fees used to help the NHS using the venue.”
