Danny Mortimer, Chief Executive of NHS Employers, said:

“We know employers in the NHS value apprenticeships and the contribution they make to  patients and the workforce.  We have had positive feedback from employers that those recruited to these roles can bring talent, energy and enthusiasm which impacts across many teams. Building apprenticeship programmes within the NHS can be an effective means of creating a skilled, flexible and motivated workforce to improve the quality of NHS healthcare. We value the commitment to new apprenticeships and to different ways of using apprenticeships to allow people to explore roles in the NHS. The target for the NHS is challenging for employers and we look forward to supporting them in delivering on this agenda.”
