Hosted at the Law Society in London, the awards also included – for the first time – a Personal, Fair and Diverse Award sponsored by NHS Employers. This was won by Sodexho UK and Ireland who had developed a global diversity and inclusion strategy setting out goals underpinned by the organisation’s values of ‘Service Spirit’, ‘Team Spirit’ and ‘Spirit of Progress’.
NHS Kernow were awarded Team of the Year – helped by their innovative work in the area of learning disability.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership Trust were awarded the Gold Standard for equality – the only organisation out of 20 from across the public and private sector to reach that level against rigorous benchmarking criteria. Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent are also one of this year’s NHS Equality and Diversity Partners – and so will be sharing their expertise with colleagues over the coming months.
A further 13 organisations were Highly Commended for the work they are doing – including Barts Health NHS Trust (for the Representative Workforce Award) and Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (for the Community Impact Award and Team of the Year).
