NHS England releases results of friends and family survey

30 / 7 / 2013 12.40pm

NHS England has today released the results of the Friends and Family survey. The survey asks patients whether they would recommend their hospital ward or accident and emergency unit to their friends and family, in a similar way to the staff survey question which asks staff whether they would recommend their service.

The results of the survey back up other evidence that there is a strong link between overall staff experience, willingness of staff to recommend their organisation and patient views.

The issue of "employee advocacy" is one that many organisations will be looking at over the next few months. In response to this a webinar has been organised to look at NHS policy developments and experience outside the NHS. More information on the webinar and booking information.

Further detailed information on the survey can be found on the NHS England and the NHS Choices websites, with general information available on the NHS Confederation website.

NHS Employers is keen to hear from NHS organisations that are taking action on these issues. Please contact Steven Weeks at steven.weeks@nhsemployers.org with any information.
