Seasonal flu plan for 2013/14 released

26 / 7 / 2013 12.36pm

It seems our flu fighters aren't the only ones planning ahead for the winter season! Today the Department of Health, Public Health England and NHS England published the 2013/14 seasonal flu plan, which:

  • Provides a coordinated and evidence-based approach to planning and responding to the demands of flu
  • Aids the development of operational plans by local organisations and emergency planners, within the NHS and local government
  • Gives an overview of the preparation for the flu season for healthcare professionals, and signposts to further guidance and information
  • Provides clarity on the roles and responsibilities of each organisation in the implementation of the seasonal flu plan

This publication and the annual flu letter are endorsed by the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer and Director of Nursing for England. Showing that the message to protect yourself, your family and your patients against flu is supported from the very top.

We know most of you are making plans for the 2013/14 season, but for those of you who haven't already done so there is still time to order your free printed campaign resources using our online ordering system.
