CNO Summit 2013

29 / 11 / 2013 3.51pm

Of course this also meant that it was one year since the launch of the Care Maker programme, and a total of 50 current Care Makers attended the event to network with senior leaders, hear from inspirational speakers, and give a big injection of Care Maker enthusiasm!

Ten of the Care Makers were supporting the event as logistics leads, ensuring that all delegates knew where they were going and what was happening. As prominent as always in the hoodies and T shirts, the Care Makers soon became the 'go to' people for any event information, while at the same time ensuring they were spreading the word about the programme.

The new Care Maker video was also shown during Jane Cummings' speech, after which the delegates were soon seeking out the Care Makers to learn more and see how their trusts could get involved.

There was even time for an audience with health secretary Jeremy Hunt, who was keen to hear more and earned himself a Care Maker badge!

Encouraging recruitment

Jane Cummings, Dean Royles and Jeremy Hunt all took the opportunity while on stage to urge delegates to support the Care Maker recruitment, and many people responded with twitter pledges. We'll be following these up to make sure we hit that 1,000 target by the end of March!

Thanks to all the Care Makers who attended as delegates and as logistics support. We hope you enjoyed the event and gained as much from it as you delivered.

Photos from the event are now available on the Care MakerĀ UK Facebook group.
