Over 140 delegates from across the public sector attended the conference hosted by Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service and Asian Fire Service Association (AFSA). The theme of the conference was 'Achieving Inclusion through partnership Working'.

The Personal Fair & Diverse (PFD) campaign featured throughout the conference. The PFD charter was signed by Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service & Humberside Fire & Rescue Service demonstrating their commitment to the principles of the campaign.

The Asian Fire Service Association (AFSA) also hosted the first ever Annual AFSA Personal Fair & Diverse Awards. Amongst the winners was Mohamed Jogi, Programme Manager, Equality & Diversity, NHS Employers. Mohamed won the 'Shining Light' award which recognises his exceptional contribution and commitment to AFSA's strategic direction as a volunteer and also his recent partnership working involving the PFD Campaign, NHS Employers and the Fire Service. This resulted in to two Fire & Rescue services adopting the PFD model as a vehicle for staff engagement. They also signed a joint PFD Charter at the AFSA conference 2013 with NHS Employers.
