NHS Employers has today issued a new pay circular for Agenda for Change staff.
Pay and Conditions Circular (AforC) 1/2014 informs employers of the pay arrangements for staff covered by the NHS terms and conditions of service handbook (Agenda for Change) which apply between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015 only.
This pay circular follows the Government's response to the NHS Pay Review Body (NHSPRB) which set out their plans for a two year pay award for NHS staff.
The pay circular covers the arrangements for 2014 - 15. A further circular on the arrangements for 2015-16 will be published nearer the time.
The Government rejected the recommendation from the pay review body for a 1 per cent uplift to all pay scales and announced an annual increase of at least one per cent for staff, through either contractual incremental pay, or non-consolidated pay.
The new pay circular contains details of a non-consolidated increase of one per cent, payable in monthly instalments, with effect from 1 April 2014 and ending on 31 March 2015 for staff who, on 31 March 2014, are on the top pay point in their pay band.
The pay points affected and details of amendment number 30 to the NHS terms and conditions of service handbook are set out in the circular.
