NHS Higher Specialist Scientific Training Programme (HSST) recruitment

The recruitment process for the NHS Higher Specialist Scientific Training Programme (HSST) 2014 is now open.

HSST is a five-year work based programme supported by an underpinning part-time doctoral level programme. HSST will provide employers with the opportunity to appoint expert and senior scientists to work with medical colleagues and clinical teams, their scientific expertise and leadership will provide important benefits and added value to patients.

Further information for employers

Employers have been working with Health Education England (HEE) and their Local Education and Training Boards (LETB) to identify workforce demand and capacity for the first programmes, with posts due to start in late 2014/early 2015. 

All applicants will be required to undergo a formal appointment and bench-marking process which will be overseen by the National School of Healthcare Science during 2014.
