The Government has today announced plans to ban exclusivity clauses in zero hours contracts.

Today's announcement follows a consultation by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills into zero hours contracts. The consultation, which we responded to on behalf of employers in the NHS, was launched in December 2013, and closed in March 2014.

In future, it is the Government's intention that employees on zero hours contracts will have the freedom to find work with more than one employer.

A full outline of the new plans are available on the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills website.
