The Institute of Health Visiting (iHV) is a membership organisation, which was set up last year to promote excellence in health visiting practice. It has established a fellowship scheme to recognise exceptional health visitors who have made a real difference to health outcomes for children and families.
Five 'pioneer fellows' of the iHV have already been appointed, and the Institute is seeking applications from inspirational health visitors from a range of backgrounds for a further 145 fellowship places.
Successful applicants will undertake a fellowship programme, and will have access to a personal mentor to develop their leadership capacity.
The fellows will be a group of expert and confident health visitor leaders who have made a real difference to children and families. They will use their expertise and leadership skills to manage the transition to local authority commissioning, and to support the development of the health visitor workforce.
