We were lucky enough to discuss culture change with Jonny Mitchell, Headmaster of Thornhill Community Academy in Dewsbury from Channel 4’s Educating Yorkshire to feed into our Think Brighter programme.

Think Brighter aims to consider the challenges facing the NHS and support organisations by showcasing new and innovative ways of working from different perspectives, and there are a number of parallels between the education and health sector.

In the podcast Jonny addresses the challenges he faced with the academy and what action he took to make sure the academy and its staff understands the community it works in to achieve the best outcomes and a good reputation.

He emphasises how vital staff health and wellbeing is to an organisation’s success, how important it is to make sure that everyone is on-board with the organisation’s vision and values and how valuable regular feedback is to improving the organisation’s environment and reputation.
