Unison announces strike action for Monday 13 October

Unison has just announced that its members in England will strike for four hours on Monday 13 October from 7am to 11pm.

Four days of action short of strike will follow from Tuesday 14 October to Friday 17 October. This action will see members making sure that they take their breaks.

The ballot results which were announced on Thursday 18 September were:

  • 68 per cent in favour of taking strike action
  • 88 per cent in favour of taking action short of strike 
The turnout for the Unison vote was 14 per cent.

Hospital Consultants & Specialists Association (HCSA) ballot 

HCSA has announced the result for its ballot:

  • Yes to a strike: 395
  • No to a strike: 429
  • Yes to action short of a strike: 704
  • No to action short of a strike: 134
