Those who successfully applied to undertake Higher Specialist Scientist Training should now have been informed of their place.

What this means for employers

Employers are reminded to ensure the necessary employment checks are in place, along with checking the individual's right to work in the UK. If your trainee requires a Tier 2 work visa to enable to undertake HSST, along with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), employers are encouraged to advise trainees to apply for their Tier 2 visa as soon as possible. Visa applications can be applied for up to three months in advance of the start date on a Tier 2 CoS.

Further information on HSST can be found in our Consultant clinical scientist workforce section.
