A public consultation during November and December will provide an opportunity to shape the apprenticeship standards for healthcare support workers and assistant practitioners.

The new apprenticeships standards will come into force for all new starts in 2017/18, when all existing frameworks will cease to be publicly fundable.

This follows the Government's report The Future of Apprenticeships in England: Implementation Plan (2013), which responded to the  recommendations made by Doug Richard's review in 2012.

To get involved in the consultation and help shape the new standards, you can share your views through an online survey, open until Friday 12 December.

The standards will be submitted to The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills for approval in January 2015, after which further detailed work will begin on assessment strategies.
